The January 1988 cover of Economist Magazine.
Do you still think Cryptocurrency is not going to take over one day? NEW WORLD CURRENCY has been in works since at least 1988 and this might be the year. It has been on the making for 30 years and it was predicted to be launched in 2018.
Title of article: Get Ready for the Phoenix Source: Economist; 01/9/88, Vol. 306, pp 9-10
From the article:
“THIRTY years from now, Americans, Japanese, Europeans, and people in many other rich countries, and some relatively poor ones will probably be paying for their shopping with the same currency. Prices will be quoted not in dollars, yen or D-marks but in let’s say, the phoenix. The phoenix will be favored by companies and shoppers because it will be more convenient than today’s national currencies, which by then will seem a quaint cause of much disruption to economic life in the last twentieth century.”
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has made a bold statement saying Bitcoin will eventually become the world’s currency.
As of right now these are all speculations, but it sure sparks an interest when you see a magazine from 1988 predict and inform that even back then governments had already been working behind the scenes to create what looks like we might already be seeing in cryptocurrency. But it seems that the owners of The Economist magazine happen to be a number of elite families and bankers. Could this be a conspiracy predicted to go toe to toe with cryptocurrencies then? So, will it be a “gold coin” or a crypto?
Where is Phoenix at?
We don’t know it yet, but 2018 has been the promised year and coincidentally or not so it happens to be the year of cryptocurrency growth. Consensus 2018 in New York, confirms this growing community, it held over 8,000+ antendees compared to 2017 2,700 attendees.
Many have compared The Phoenix to Bitcoin and agree in similarity.
From the article:
“Preparing the way for the phoenix will mean fewer pretended agreements on policy and more real ones. It will mean allowing and then actively promoting the private-sector use of an international money alongside existing national monies. That would let people vote with their wallets for the eventual move to full currency union. The phoenix would probably start as a cocktail of national currencies, just as the Special Drawing Right is today. In time, though, its value against national currencies would cease to matter, because people would choose it for its convenience and the stability of its purchasing power.”
